Google Just Opened a Role That Could
Change Your Career Trajectory
The Digital Marketing Strategist position at gTech Ads isn’t just another job listing — it’s a rare gateway into one of the most influential advertising teams on the planet.
Let’s be honest — most job alerts look the same. Another company, another set of bullet points, another application that disappears into the void. But every once in a while, a role appears that genuinely makes you stop scrolling. Google’s Digital Marketing Strategist opening within its gTech Ads division is exactly that kind of opportunity — and if you’ve been building your digital marketing chops over the past two years, you owe it to yourself to read every word of this.
At NextStepHub, we filter through hundreds of job postings every week to bring you the ones that actually matter. This one made it to the top of the list — and here’s why.
What is gTech Ads, and why does it matter?
Most people think of Google as a search engine. Marketers know it as the world’s most powerful advertising platform. But the engine behind Google’s client-facing advertising success? That’s gTech — the Global Customer Solutions team. gTech doesn’t just sell ad products. They solve real business problems. They build bespoke solutions for complex client needs, scale innovations across markets, and sit at the intersection of technology, strategy, and human connection.
The APAC division specifically covers some of the fastest-growing digital markets in the world — India, Southeast Asia, Australia, and more. If you land this role, you won’t be playing small.
“You act like an owner, move with velocity through change, finding innovative and strategic ways to consistently deliver extraordinary outcomes for both Google and your customers.”
That’s straight from the job description — and honestly, it tells you everything about the culture you’d be stepping into.
What will you actually be doing?
This isn’t a role where you’ll be running the same campaigns on repeat and calling it a day. The scope here is genuinely broad — and genuinely exciting. You’ll drive high-impact outcomes across multiple markets and customers, working cross-functionally with sales teams to enable business growth. You’ll build client solutions that create long-term trust, pioneer advanced advertising frameworks, and help activate them with the right partners at scale. You’ll also play a mentorship role — supporting the broader CSA (Customer Support Application) team with coaching and thought leadership on AI-driven tools and product activation strategies.
In short: you’ll be solving real problems for real businesses, with Google’s entire ecosystem of products at your disposal.
Are you the right fit?
Google’s minimum bar is clear — a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of hands-on experience in digital media, marketing, or advertising. But the preferred profile tells a richer story. The ideal candidate is someone who’s managed end-to-end digital campaigns, worked across multiple stakeholders (even messy, complex ones), and has developed a genuine ability to sit with ambiguity and still deliver results.
- 2+ years in digital media, marketing campaigns, or advertising solutions
- Experience in client management, analytics, or consulting-oriented projects
- Ability to drive complex, multi-stakeholder projects to business outcomes
- Comfortable implementing, optimising, and reporting on digital ad campaigns
- A mindset of learning and sharing — you make the whole team better
If you’ve been in a digital agency, a performance marketing team, or even a consulting firm where you touched client-facing analytics — this is your lane.
